Flight data logger for iOS
Location is required to record your flight path via GPS. Motion & Fitness is required to record aircraft attitude (pitch, roll) and acceleration. The app cannot record flights without these permissions. You can manage them in Settings > Privacy & Security.
The countdown gives you time to position your device and prepare for departure. At the end of the countdown, the app calibrates the motion sensors to your aircraft's current orientation, so pitch and roll readings are relative to level flight.
When you stop a flight, the app automatically discards the final 20 seconds of data. This removes the landing roll-out and the time it takes to reach for your device, keeping your flight statistics clean.
Flight Club uses GPS and motion sensors continuously during recording, which does consume battery. You can reduce battery usage by choosing a longer data logging interval (e.g. 5 or 10 seconds) in the new flight form. A fully charged device will comfortably last several hours of recording.
All flight data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server or third party. If you delete the app, all flight data is permanently removed.
The app displays altitude in feet, speed in knots, and temperature in degrees Celsius — standard aviation units. All data is stored internally in metric and converted for display.
Yes. Flight Club works entirely offline. GPS does not require a cellular connection. However, an initial GPS fix may take longer without network assistance.
Place your device where it has a clear view of the sky — on the dashboard or in a mount near the windscreen works best. Avoid keeping it in a pocket or bag. GPS accuracy improves after a few minutes of use.
